Challenge: A nonprofit client used Salesforce for managing their operations, including managing employees, daily documentation, and more. Salesforce proved cumbersome, was difficult to onboard new employees with, and suffered from low adoption rates, which caused inefficiencies.
What We Did:
We built custom systems in Notion for each of the organization's departments to collaborate, gain insights, and manage projects on.
Training Department Management System
The organization trains service dogs for people with disabilities. With dozens of dogs in training, as well as dozens of employees responsible for their care and training, we built custom systems to help manage employee tasks, keep track of each dog's training progress and history, track notes and development, and more. This saved the training departments hundreds of hours in tedious admin and communications tasks and enabled them to focus on fulfilling the organization's mission of training more dogs.
CRM For Clients
We then built a custom CRM to manage clients and applicants. This system integrated with the organization's website to accept new client applications, import data, and notify appropriate staff. Then we migrated decades' worth of client data from Salesforce to Notion into our new custom-built system.
Fundraising Tracker
We developed a custom system to keep track of revenues from online platforms as well as checks and grants in a streamlined dashboard. This provided a simplified bird's-eye view of the organization's finances to key decision makers.
Story Gallery
We developed a centralized library for the media team to store all the organization's success stories about their beneficiaries. The library housed photos, thank you letters, videos, Google Drive links, and other media assets. This consolidated system enabled more compelling storytelling for donors and social media followers, which led to more than tripling both their social media following and conversion rates.
These custom systems were all built in Notion to fit the unique needs of this organization, had a 100% adoption rate, and eliminated thousands of dollars in spending on other vendors for multiple tools—saving money, time, and accelerating growth.
